I had a similar problem with my '93 9000 CSE to the point that the system voltage dipped below 12V momentarily. It was like I turned the key off and back on really fast. I spent a lot of time cleaning grounds, replacing the alternator, charges from the dealer for diagnostics so they could tell me nothing was wrong and they could not duplicate the fault. After sitting around thinking about it (I'm and engineer, it's what we do), it dawned on me that all the battery is there for after you start the car is to act like a big capacitor that dumps in current to the electrical system whenever a new load is brought online (like the magnetic clutch for the A/C compressor) until the alternator can ramp up its output. I went back to the dealer and had him replace the positive battery cable and the problem went away. FWIW, the alternators on those are rated for either 120 or 140 amps. All those gadgets take a lot of power.
