Subject: Re: 2000 SAAB 95 Base Model 40K mile service

Have they done any machining on the rotors in the first 35k? (normally three machinings can be done to a rotor before replacing it- based on the minimum thickness criterion) Does the car shake when you break?.. i.e, are the rotors severely warped? (if the distortion is severe then the rotors might need replacement- that is if one machining cut does not take away the warpage.) If you don't see any shake- and if they haven't machined the rotors so far- I'd say that the SAAB dealer is cheating you. Get a second opinion from any break shop. RB p.s: Don't compare with the G20 maintenance routine. I also have a G20 (1996) and SAAB (1994)-. It would be twice as expensive (conservative estimate) to maintain the SAAB in comparison to Nissan (Infinity). "Bharath S.
