Subject: buy snow tires or not?

I am considering buying snow tires for my 9-5 wagon. I have not owned snow tires since the days when front wheel drive cars became available. The performance tires on the car now are OK in the snow but have 33,000 miles on them (factory equipped Michelins). I know that real snow tires would handle better in the snow and ice (vs. all season radials) but it is worth the additional hassle of changing tires twice a year? If I buy snows I will also buy 4 steel wheels so all I have to do is simply change tires without having to remount and balance each time. I have not had any real problems driving in snow with front wheel drive and all season radials. But my current tires have about 6-10K miles left of good tread and are a little worn for the current snow conditions. What do most Saab owners do who live in snow country? I live in northern Ohio and we get our share of snow (although much less than what I remember as a kid 30 years ago). Ed.
