Well, having driven the BMW 3 series with AWD, i really can not recommend it. My objections are to the handling of the BMW. On tarmac, it is ok in high speed, but understeers hopelessly in tighter turns. On snow and ice, it changes between understeer and oversteer in a very unpredictable way, making it very difficult to compensate. This all only goes for the AWD version. Rear wheel driven BWMs are very good on tarmac, while it handles like rear wheel driven cars do in slippery conditions (something I dont like, but that is up to the drivers individual taste). An alternative (if I dare to write so in a SAAB forum) is the Volvo S60AWD, which handles very well. The only drawback here is the lack of feedback into the steering wheel, which degrades the driving pleasure somewhat. > I want it all - looks, performance, ride, all-weather drivability, comfort, style... > but # 1 on the list is performance & style!! > Convince me to buy a Saab... please? > -- > The Conquistador > http://www.Footballguys.com > http://www.NewsgroupFantasyLeagues.com > "Nothing speaks for the arrogance of Man more than the notion he is alone in the > Universe" > > /Staffan
