Subject: Autogas (LPG) conversions.

When the big day comes and I finally find my Saab, I'm considering an LPG (Dual Fuel) conversion (might as well get as many smiles per mile for cheap). Any idea what such a Conversion would cost in the UK? I'm not too far from Autogas Northwest (in Frodsham). What sort of mileage would cause an engine to have too much wear and carbon build up for an LPG conversion to be effective (with the gas cleaning the carbon from the bores and lowering the compression). Just trying to think of ways to make SWMBO agree that a Saab would be ideal as my Next car (a 1.3 litre Skoda is too small to benefit from LPG, but a 2 litre Classic 900 would probably work out cheaper to run on Gas than the Skdoa does on unleaded Petrol). The lower priced fuel from a conversion might just do it. -- Carl Robson http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
