There's really nothing wrong with the front mounted Girling sliders - honest. In fact, in good condition, they have much crisper feel than the later setup. The best advice I can give you is as soon as you get a pre 88 900 rebuild the front calipers - it takes maybe half an hour per side, and makes a huge difference. And you won't need to touch them again for 10 years. If you can't be bothered to rebuild yourself, get rebuilt ones for £60-£70 each. -- Grunff
