I think the biggest reason for fitting one isn't necessarily for immediate gains, it's to prevent fuel starvation from being the bottleneck in any upgrades. You can give the engine a ton of extra air, but if you can't get the fuel in there to burn with it, in the right ratio, fixing the airflow of the induction/exhaust systems won't help. Kind of like a sport exhaust - it helps a little on a stock engine, but once you go beyond stock, it can flow enough to not restrict the output of the higher power engine. It's all about moving the bottleneck around. Knowing where to spend the money to get the most "bang for the buck" is the trick. I'm not going to claim I have the trick mastered, either... Dave Hinz
