I haven't been aware of any blue smoke I was just wondering what the worst case senario was. The car is not thrashed or modifed and has a full Saab service history. It does occasionally stretch its legs when its warmed up and I tend to let it idle for 30secs-1mins after a hot run. All in all it has a good life. So for blue smoke you would be looking at turbo failure or engine/gasket failure... What I have noticed is that most people in the group tend to change their oil on the turbo models at more regular intervals than the 12k Saab recommends. Is this really worthwhile or just a pastime to keeps away from the wife..... ;-) Alex "Johannes H Andersen" <johsnopsamsizefitterzzzz.com> wrote in message news:3E4D4C15.1A63402nopsamsizefitterzzzz.com... > > > Alex wrote: > > > > I talked to a guy in the work who has an Escort Cosworth (I know, I know). > > He said that turbo cars do burn off a bit of oil trying to cool down the > > turbo but it depend how much wellie you give it.
