Subject: What size vacuum hose for a C900 T16

I think I have a vacuum leak somewhere either under the dash, or under the bonnet. When I start up, I get a sound something like a duck quacking, but elongated, and now recentley I get a short quack when backing off the throttle. Boost gauge is working, heater is working, but cruise control isn't. I'm assuming a vacuum leak, because if I set the cruise control it slows gradually (over a short space of time), rather than engine braking quickly. I'm thinking of doing as much of the vacuum hose that I can in silicon hose, and solve current and future probs in one hit (if one hose has gone, the others can't be far behind). Does anyone know the correct ID for the Vacuum hose, and how much I'm likely to need to replace under the bonnet, and behind the dash. Also is it possible to replace the breather pipe between the cam cover and manifold with a small filter, if I was to cap off the connection on the manifold? Idle seems a little low until warm, and fuel consumption seems high (about £26 of Optimax for about 180 miles travelled). And the fuel gauge doesn't seem to be too accurate. With the gauge showing 1/4 tank, I filled up to the most it would take, and it stopped at £29 (95ron UK premium unleaded, approx 38 litres?). I thought it was supposed to be a 60+ litre tank? -- Carl Robson The poster formally known as Skodapilot. http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
