Subject: Cooling system - NO HEAT

I've recently flushed my cooling system and replaced the thermostat because there was very little/no heat coming out and I thought there was some blockage. I thoroughly flushed both the engine and the heater core, when I refilled it with coolant I was expecting for air to escape and I would have to top off the coolant. However the was no air and I didn't have to top it off. There doesn't seem to be any circulation of the coolant but I changed the water pump last year so the cooling system should be okay. Anyone have any idea as to what I should look for next? And yes I also checked the heat exchange door and it is closed. BTW: 1988 Saab 9000T Thanx in advance, Norbert
