Subject: Re: curious about check engine light??

This is a compiled list from other users here (some may be incorrect): a SAAB "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" is an indication of poor combustion & emissions caused by : A defective seal at the gas cap (fix or replace the gas cap) Vacuum / In-take air leak (running too lean) - don't let this go on too long Using low octane fuel (use 93 octane gas for a month or so to clean injectors) Dirty throttle (clean or replace) Faulty temperature sensor Faulty O2 sensor The engine oil is not of proper weight The air and fuel mixture is to "rich" or "lean" (quite serious and would require immediate attention) Or you may have a bad engine ground between the engine wiring harness and the intake manifold: CARS AFFECTED: SAAB 900 From Vin # T2000184 & on. The repair is as follows: Step 1. Remove securing screws and washers for engine wiring harness grounds at the intake manifold. Step 2. Replace existing screws with longer screws part # 7978109 X 2 and washer Part # 9166380 X 2 "User" <user2nopsam.com> wrote in message news:9oX4a.183452$be.164042nopsamnsc53... > I have a 1992 900 Convertible, just turned 120K miles and the check engine > light came on.
