Ok then... If you have damaged the oil pan as I think you have - it is likely that the next time you (or your mechanic - let him know what's going on) tightens up the drain plug - it will become a severe problem.. The 80's SAAB cases are as good as anything on the market - but I notice that people often over tighten things and break something.. The bolts are inherently stronger than the thing they are bolting into.. In this case - your oil pan.. The upside is that you can buy a used replacement cheap from any wrecker with a 80's series 900 engine.. The next time you change oil - have it done at a shop and have them swap off the oil pan when they change the oil.. Anyone should be able to do it in under an hour (although I could be wrong - check).. My other recommendation - if you did work on your own machine in depth - was that it might be time to do some general service at the same time.. It's expensive to buy service like that - but if you can lift the engine out of the bay yourself - it can be pretty cheap and really easy to do once it's out.. If you ever do take that course - your 900 will be a great thing to learn on.. Very straight forward.. Goods luck brother - get a small torque wrench for your socket set.. It'll save you a lot of trouble in general.. -- J Dexter - webmaster - http://www.dexterdyne.org/ all tunes - no cookies no subscription no weather no ads no news no phone in - RealAudio 8+ Required - all the Time Radio Free Dexterdyne Top Tune o'be-do-da-day Doctor Hook - The Cover of the Rolling Stone http://www.dexterdyne.org/888/033.RAM
