My '85 900i, which must have a similar if not the same setup, was taken to my garage to have the clutch looked at. I found one day that the clutch was suddenly very very heavy and then after feeling a little squashy as the bottom end for a while (like there was resistance coming up and a slight judder) it became very light. By light, I mean it needed very little effort to push to the bottom. My garage fixed the seal on the master cylinder and it returned to normal. I think you have had the same experience and it was just coincidence when it happened. Paul 1989 900 Turbo S http://saab.go.dyndns.org/
