For a 1992, "9000T" is the complete and proper model designation for a Turbo hatchback in North America. It was the then top of the line model, and I am told it was comparable to the "Aero" in its suspension and handling components. LPT wasn't invented yet. The 3 spoke wheels also indicate that it is the 9000T trim level (and I would really like to get my hands on a reasonably priced set of them. Most places are asking over $200 a piece for them alone). My car is just a year older, with 130,000 miles on it. Things I have replaced since I bought it at 85,000 miles (only a few more KM's than the 130,000 on the model you are looking at): Exhaust system from the catalyst back, motor mounts, radio (cassette broke), 5 spd. transmission (entire unit) with slave cylinder, and the clutch. Other more minor things like brakes, struts, shocks, battery, etc have also been replaced. The A/C doesn't work and I haven't looked into fixing it. The headliner is also sagging a little. CAN$4,000 doesn't sound like too bad a deal for a car that looks in good shape (like this one) doesn't sound like too bad a deal as long as you are handy enough to work on it yourself. Otherwise it is probably going to be expensive to maintain.
