Too bad I didn't rent one of those when I was in Germany in December. I had a new Vectra instead. It had lots of features and a few entertaining attributes: The turn signal lever came off in my hand, the front suspension went "boing" over the slightest bump or when turning the steering wheel, the engine would not idle properly and would stall when cold (this must have been a feature to simulate carburated engines of old), and the "check engine" light was always on. The oddest part was that the car rental company did not have any cars of any type or size to offer as a replacement. I figured that the remainder of their fleet must also have been in need of repair. It didn't leave me with a good impression of Opel products. Maybe I will rent from Hertz next time and try a Ford.
