I think the concern is more with the pressure and wear against the cloth from the carwashes with lot of big brushes. I have had my car through those a few times without problem, but try to avoid it. I do take it frequently, at least in the winter, through a brushless wash, or a gas-station deal that has some wiggling strips of cloth which don't seem to beat on the car very hard. I do recommend keeping a piece of towel handy...sometimes a fair amount of water comes through between the top and the edge of the windows. (Seems to depend upon the angle of the water jets as some car washes are much worse than others.) Cheers Rpm
