That's the same explanation I got. But I don't want to replace my heater box, because I intend to replace my car in a few months. The cost wouldn't be worth it, so I'll only have the linkage itself fixed. I wonder, do the cars with climate control also suffer this problem or is it limited to manual controlled heaters? Mark
