Belts are a very different thing - they break without any warning. It is unheard of for a chain to break without warning. When I buy a car with a belt, I replace it. End of story. When I buy a car with a chain, I listen closely, I take the cam cover off and check for stretch, I may even replace the tensioner. But unless there are signs of stretch, I don't replace the chain. -- Grunff
