Salutations: No pwob brother Pavel, the important part of the post was "I'm tapped as usual".. Frankly - it remains an 13 year old $1,800 9000T with a really good engine and that's about it.. The interior is cooked and rotting in general and some small - but fatal - rust is starting in the door seems and rear corner - so I only pick up service $$$ for important things like steering gear and CV joints and the like until it finally gets hauled off.. I'm always torn at this point actually - one of these days I'm going to really trick out a car instead of running it into the ground.. My current one is a good candidate mechanically.. But, I'm old enough to know that things exactly like this window cable and the like are going to start croaking off and unless I land a gig with dental plan sometime soon - I fear the current SAAB will probably follow it's older siblings to Korea.. :/ .. Anyway - I'll be check out the breakers as brother Grunff suggests and pulling the mechanism to see what, if anything, can be done to spool out cable.. Again - any suggestions or experiences however remote always welcome - it's likely going to be a while before I fix it properly.. -- J Dexter - webmaster - http://www.dexterdyne.org/ all tunes - no cookies no subscription no weather no ads no news no phone in - RealAudio 8+ Required - all the Time Radio Free Dexterdyne Top Tune o'be-do-da-day Holland Hucknall - T-Bone Shuffle http://www.dexterdyne.org/888/147.RAM Pavel Brun wrote: > > I know you don't want to hear this option, but I would suggest taking the > car to the service center and paying some $$$ to fix it rather than spending > your time and money to (and frustations) to try to fix this. > > Paul > > "Dexter J" <lamealameadingdongnopsamlamelame.org> wrote in message > news:3EA0887E.4A118C2Enopsamlamelame.org... > > Salutations: > > > > OK - here's what I've done.. > > > > My passenger window ('89 9000T CD) was grinding and got stuck fully open > > even though I had warned everyone that it shouldn't be opened until I > could > > spend some time and perhaps money taking it apart and fixing it.. > > > > I got the panel open and found, as I suspected, that the upper wire had > > slipped off the plastic disk and was working on the pulley shaft behind > the > > disk instead.. > > > > When I got the crochet needle in there and pulled the cable trying to get > > it to slide back onto the disk - I overshot and the cable dropped off the > > front of the pulley disk.. > > > > In my panic - I started pulling the cable off it's lower disk trying to > get > > some slack to put it back on the top and got the cable itself free from > the > > plastic stay on the window brace..
