In my experience with an '85 900T 4-door nothing but a proper relining worked. I found a local car upholsterer who had a large roll of Ford material that nearly matched the original Saab stuff. The point I wanted to make here, however, is that he managed to remove and replace the headliner through the trunk (boot?) of the 4-door 900 without much trouble. Good luck.
