Time to get out of the closet then :) I have a second generation iMac as my main computer (I also have several beige boxes running various Linux/UNIX operating systems, but it is probably over a year since I actually fired any one of them up). I kind of gave up with the beige boxes once I upgraded to OSX and found the benefits of giving up the 'classic' Mac OS. The UNIX underpinnings of OSX make for a very stable and powerful system. > I am curious. A sales person told me that in many ways Saab was the > "Macintosh Computer" of the car world. I work in data networks and encounter a number of operating systems and hardware. The last thing I want to do when I get home is fiddle about with computers. My iMac is a tool - it has the Microsoft Office suite, an e-mail & news client and a web browser. That's about all I need it for in a home environment. I only reboot for system upgrades and the machine just does what I want it to without all the fiddling. The Saab also just works. I think if I had a brand new Saab, I wouldn't touch it at all mechanically (like the iMac) and the parallel would be more true, but being a classic owner I do fiddle with it a bit :) I think perhaps the salesman was making a parallel between the brands in that both are slightly quirky, slightly unknown by the mass consumer and possibly slightly feared because of that. Everybody knows the Saab reputation but many will still go for the common car. Computers, likewise. Paul 1989 900 Turbo S http://saab.go.dyndns.org/
