Not sure about ultimate longevity but here is my experience to date (all 4cyl engines) '74 99LE sold at 225K miles '80 900 Gli laid to rest due to rusted out bottom at 325k miles '85 900T totalled at 185K miles '90 900 SPG (turbo) still going strong at 185k miles So, they do last quite a while!
