Subject: Frontal Light failure

2002 Saab 9-3 My front driver's side low beam blinked out during driving on the highway a few days ago. The SID info almost immediately notified me. What is strange is that its only low beam that died. High-beam works. Also, I noticed that the left side reverse light also died. (no warning). My question: Isn't high/low beam the same bulb? Meaning that its not the bulb? I'm running aftermarket bulbs (forget brand, but from Crutchfields), and its the same volt/watt rating. Should I change it back to stock before I take it back to the dealer (in case they want to blame the bulb?) (I'm assuming its not a bulb thats burnt out). Is it as simple as a fuse?
