FWIW, I think it's better to have them than not. Where I live they use tons of sand and salt on the streets in the winter. Some drivers (the smart one's anyway) spend a little time cleaning their lights in order to see better. The not-to-smart ones just wonder why it's so hard to see at night. I bet you lose 50% of your headlight power around here driving around the day after a storm. Bob
