For the record, obviously I was not advocating getting rid of the windshield wipers, that would be suicidal (not to mention homicidal). But surely headlamp wipers are a different matter? My Saab is the first car I ever had that was fitted with wipers on the headlights, and I do think I can survive without them (if they would cause me trouble). I never noticed my light having trouble getting out in a coherent way but that must be my lack of perception. >>Funny how in western countries anything remotely connected to security >>becomes almost a religious imperative for many people. > > Why in the world would you not want to see well? I do want to see well, but I'm doubtful that headlamp wipers will make a big difference. But apparently you disagree. X. "Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body is also full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness" (Luke 11:34).
