Subject: '97 900: coolant leak (frost plug?) and dead tach/boost gauge

Any thoughts appreciated. Couple recent problems on my 1997 900SE turbo: 1. Sudden coolant leakage. Have to add about 2 cups of coolant to overflow tank every 3-4 days. Car-X man said it is definitely coming from the "frost plug," and possibly also the "bypass tube." They said take it to dealer or an import mechanic, as they thought the fix might require removal of turbo. 2. Tach stuck on about 2700 RPM...when car is off, or when I go to black panel, it does drop to 0, so needle doesn't seem to be physically stuck. But it always returns to the same precise spot. It will on rare occasion work correctly for a short period of time. Also, my turbo boost gauge has been dead for a few months longer...it was intermittent, but now pretty much dead. My son said that both it and the tach suddenly started working at the same time once recently, but the next time the car was driven, neither worked. Thanks in advance for any wisdom/guidance. RPM
