Get a _new_ pair of large vise grips with nice sharp jaws and adjust them out until you have to use both hands and your foot as a lever to close them up on the plug. If you don't have to grunt and groan as you squeeze them, they are not tight enough. Be sure to use the flattest remaining part of the plug. Then try to get it out by pushing hard on the top side of the grips. You can also try a large fresh pipe wrench. Heating up the car first might help although I don't know if the aluminum pan will expand faster than the steel plug. Bob
