Depends - it's either the shift linkage (£5 part, 20 minutes) or the gearbox (£500 part, 4 hours). The only way you can tell is by having a good look. The shift linkage is visible if you look down the gap between the engine and the bulkhead on the battery side of the car. You should see the rod going to the gearbox. Get someone to move the gear stick while you watch the rubber coupler. -- Grunff
