Trentsaab in the UK identified it as an R12 system (were amazed it still worked) and another independent AC specialist identified it as an R12 system and was equally amazed that it still worked. The other slight problem with the AC is that it doesn't go as cold as it should. The AC chap took a quick look and suspected that the heater flap wasn't shutting off completely but it looks to me like it is from the travel of the control wire (non ACC - this is completely manually performed right? No seperate motor?) David.
