I know that it doesn't. In fact, there are variations of the manual transmissions for various years of 9000's. There was a major change around 1994, and I know that there are at least 3 different model numbers that appear when searching for Saab 9000 manual transmissions. Too bad you don't live in the US. We have a wonderful source for rebuilt transmissions on the east coast, http://www.erikssonindustries.com/saab_page.htm. They offer a 12 month, unlimited mileage warranty and, in my experience, a very reliable product. I purchased mine from http://www.saabsite.com/9000/9000transmission.htm in October for $1500, which included UPS shipping to and from Chicago (yes, they want the old one back, otherwise there is an additional $500 charge). BTW, I am assuming that Saabsite provided an Eriksson transmission; they wouldn't confirm or deny this but the warranty and return shipping address led me to believe this. It also seems that Saab USA parts departments uses Eriksson as a source for their transmissions too.
