Subject: temp gauge and A/C fail together

Hello all: Something unusual happened today on my normally reliable 2000 SAAB 9-5 V6 wagon. I started it up this morning and, driving around, noticed that the temperature gauge was completely dead. All the other gauges worked fine - even the fuel gauge which is just adjacent to it. At the same time I noticed that the A/C would not blow cold air. It blew, it's just that the air wasn't cold. When I got to my destination I parked and left the car there for several hours. When I got back in and started it up both the temp gauge and A/C were working normally. I'm trying to understand why they would both fail, and recover, together. Do they share a fuse? For what it's worth, I had the oil changed yesterday at a Jiffy Lube. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. - Rob Malkin
