When the system is pressurised some of the fluid is forced into the sphere at the base of the reservoir. After the car has been stood for a while this escapes back to the reservoir. Hence the different level. If you want to be sure, turn on ignition until abs warning light goes out. Look at fluid level. It should be below the mark 1/2 way down. Now pump brakes 10-15 times with ignition off. The fluid will rise again. -- take off "ospam" to mail me
