In article <bf9udr$cmm65$1nopsam52899.news.uni-berlin.de>, grunffnopsam.com spouted forth into alt.autos.saab... > I thought I'd share this, in case anyone's thinking of an MP3 > player for their Saab (or any other car for that matter). > Grunff. Have a look at http://www.6thplanet.com/ look under MP3 Audio. The Mstations seem to be quite popular, although some people hack them about to get the brighter display from the main unit into the wired remote control unit. They don't seem to be the best at track whe using random play modes, but as long as getting MP3 into the car for a reasonable price, they don't seem bad. ISTR that Version 2 is far superior. Here is some more info http://www.thebasshertz.com/pagemstation.htm http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/electronics/car_audio/neo_car_jukebox_mp3 _player/_review/380882/ http://www.mounstronic.com/mp3/mstation.htm BTW, input to the car radio can be through the supplied FM Modulator (to a tuned channel, so your Saab original R/C can still work), though a hacked connector that replaces a Multichanger and tricks the headunit into thinking that a multichanger is present as a line in source, or if you have one straight into an aux in/line in source. -- Carl Robson (The poster formerly known as Skodapilot) http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
