Subject: Brake/Suspension Problem on 2002 9-3
Hi!
Ive got a 2002 9-3 Convertible (2.0LPT). Recently had the thing in for
a 18,000 mile service, since then we have noticed some problems with
the car. These two problems seem to be fairly intermittant and don't
seem to occur at same time, they are:
1.) The car sometimes starts to feel very unstable, a feeling similar
to being on a rowing boat! This happens in even when driving in a
straight line, when steering at this point you get no feedback
whatever and the car feels very strange.
2.) The other problem is 'sometimes' when braking reasonably hard
there is a bit of a 'clunk' which can be felt slightly through the
brake pedal, this is more likely to happen if you brake whilst
travelling over a bump in the road. Also you can get the same kind of
clunk if you accelerate hard over a large bump in road.
I am obviously getting it back into the dealers for inspection but am
worried that if I cannot show them the problem they wont know what to
look for. If anyone could give me some sensible pointers or have had a
similar problem and know the solution please let me know!
Thanks,
Paul.
