They would have had to bump the 9000 out 3 inches on both sides, which I think would have made it even better looking and more stable at cruising speeds.. I think it came down to costing on the machine - which was going to be a lot more expensive than the 900 line no matter what they did and given that pretty much every other car on the planet uses McPherson (spelling?) - I think it was just one of those Engineering/Accounting department discussions.. They went for some very wide rims instead, which from a 'new car' point of view is probably very close to wishbones.. But like I said - I don't think it has the longevity or serviceability - that said I'm facing a second set of control arm bushing at 334,000kms - so I guess that's not so bad.. I wonder if the lack of wishbones is why Griffin can't handle the extra horse power and gets torque steer?.. Bet a brace across the engine would help a lot.. -- J Dexter - webmaster - http://www.dexterdyne.org/ all tunes - no cookies no subscription no weather no ads no news no phone in - RealAudio 8+ Required - all the Time Radio Free Dexterdyne Top Tune o'be-do-da-day Brian Setzer Orchestra - Bond - Mission Impossible - Peter Gunn http://www.dexterdyne.org/888/021.RAM
