Right? Do I need to make some > adjustment to the mixture screw? If so, which way? I'm referring to the hole > between the air filter and the fuel accumulator that takes a 3mm hex plug to > adjust. I think rather than a choke there is a an extra cold start injector that richens the mixture when temps below a certain level. If the cold start is staying working full time (apart from increased consumption), then later in the day, when things are warm, you will have mixture probs. OTH, if the coldstart isn't working, setting the mixture and idle for starting would cause probs later, whereas a bad idle at cold would run fine when warm. Might be the injector sticking, but not sure how it is regulated. > Am I going the right way about this? The Haynes says to set the idle first. > Am I doing this right? Have a look in halfords. they do a Gunsons Gas tester. they have a cheap one at about £60 that just does CO levels, or a more expensive one (about £100 I think) that can do CO, HC, and RPM. Don't know which you would need, but maybe the CO only one, plus checking the plug conditon might work? -- The poster formerly known as Skodapilot. http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
