Because the ECU is either not getting a signal to tell it the engine's turning over, or it is getting a signal but is failing to switch the injectors (and the fuel pump). The ECU gets it's revs signal from the distributor. Now, you say you're getting good spark, that means the distributor is outputting signal OK, but either it's not getting to the ECU, or the ECU is dead. Check/clean/wiggle the connector at the distributor, see if that makes any difference. Remove the big plug on the ECU and re-seat it. Let us know what happens. -- Grunff
