Subject: Re: Window Switch Problem

Dear All, Thank you all for your sound advice.I was able to take out the central switch console following the guidelines in Haynes.I subsequently opened up the switch unit and cleaned the contacts and removed some of the crud that had built up there .Some of the metal contacts became detached but after cleaning I got them back to the correct position. I reassembled the unit, replaced it and reconnected my negative battery connection and surprise surprise the switches work a treat and my window can close again. My wife and children were impressed. As a technophobe I got a great kick out of sorting the problem Thanks Again.
