You may just be a bit harder on you brakes! The dealer will always replace the rotors with the pads, hence the $600 bill. According to my independent Saab shop (Saabtech, Chicago), you should get at least two sets (and usually three) of pads per rotor replacement. I just had the front and back pads replaced at 60,000 miles. The rotors required a bit of machining, but should be good till 90,000 miles. Take your car elsewhere for a 2nd opinion.
