There is only a handful of cars that have syncromesh on reverse. This does
not make a car dangerous?
The problem you are experiencing is the gears not lining up with each other.
2 ways to get around the problem.
1. hold clutch down for a few seconds before selecting gear
2. if it fails to go into gear lift clutch pedal slightly, press down again
and try selecting gear
