Common Problem. It's happened to my 97 900SE Convertable twice. My neighbor has a 96 and it's happened to his too. When it happens, the spring just seems to disappear. The first time it happened, the car was under warranty and the dealer just replaced the part. I'm out of warranty now. My wife drives the car and she hasn't complained so I'm just leaving it.
