When I replaced my transmission, I also needed to take out the starter motor. I saw no need to remove the intake manifold. I had plenty of accessibility by just removing the throttle body and setting it to the side. It is held on by 3 nuts. A few hoses need to be removed and electrical connections unplugged, but that is it. QED. Walt Kienzle 1991 9000T "J.
