Help anyone ...my 9000CDE 1995 auto broke down - engine just died. Got towed back home. Diagnosis was that the DI cassette was faulty.£175 lighter I am still in the same position. The engine doesn't want to start. When turning the engine over there is now a (very loud) horrible squeal on each engine cycle and no attempt by the engine to backfire, start, ignite fuel or anything.Pretty lifeless. Removing the plugs and repeating the same..the squeal goes away, with the engine turning over quite freely. As best I can make out the squeal comes from the drivers side (British car RH drive) of the engine. I cannot drive the car so it is pretty difficult to take it to a SAAB dealers to get the engine diagnostics run. Any ideas anyone....thanks in advance for any guidance.
