The /55 tires will need slightly less pressure by ~1.5 psi, so you will get a more compliant ride. You could try to temporarily reduce pressure just to see what it would feel like. Then there will be a the problem with running diameter and speedo accuracy and you have to ensure wheel clearance. I don't have a 900 so I haven't tried it, but then I don't expect many have.
