What's the deal here? Is the whole center console wiggling around? I'd bet money that it's either loose entirely, or has shifted juuuuuust enough that the linkage isn't lining up. Not an expensive fix at all, but you will need to get or make a special tool to handle the fasteners. Get the rubber boot out of the way (it comes up over a lip on the bottom), fold that up, and you should see what needs to come out to get at it. You need to either tighten, or shift, the gear shift "console" (for lack of a more precise term). Dave Hinz
