Subject: Surging Idle on 99' 9-5

Hey Guys, I wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and found the correct solution for it. I have a 1999 9-5 with 47000 miles on it. In the last couple of months, I would have problems starting the car. The engine would turn over and then completely die. The only way to get it running would be to apply gas immediately after it turns over. This would happen every now and then. The problem got worse when at times I would put the car in drive and the engine would start surging. It would get so bad that I did not apply the brake, the car would lurch forward. Mind you, this was not a constant event, but it happened frequently. All this time I never would get the check engine light or any other indicator from the car. I took the car to the dealer to have this problem fixed this past Friday. The dealer reported that the "Tech-2" scan did not show any fault codes, but a test drive confirmed the symptoms. The dealer did a test on the turbo bypass valve and found the there was a vacuum leak and replaced the part. The car ran fine when I picked it up, but when I went out later that evening, the surging problem happened again. Has anyone else had this problem and was successful in fixing it? Any input is appreciated. David
