Chicago in winter? Saab Young family? Safety = Saab Reliability - can't beat Toyota, altho the 9-5s are showing excellent reliability in Consumer Reports. Go to edmunds.com & check out the extended warranty (an exclusionary policy, it lists only the parts they won't cover, which are generally maintenance items). Go for about 5 yrs 100000 miles. If you like to drive, Saab. If you don't want to think about it, Camry.
