Salutations: Hope everyone had a great holiday, as regular readers will know I have been looking for a new car since wiping out our beloved '89 9000T CD. It was a long slog - but I've picked up a reasonable 1994 NG900 2.3 5 speed - $2,600 cdn (apx $1,800 usd). It has issues (of course) - and I would appreciate any thoughts before running it though my wrench miester. First - I get a distinct rattle around 2000rpm. It doesn't get louder or quieter as the engine warms up nor does the engine rattle at cold idle (thusly I don't think it's the chain) - is there anything anyone else can think of - sounds like it's just behind the intake manifold or in the pulley array. Also - check engine light is on. This is a recent development (the car has been on a back lot for about 12 months now) - so I'm guessing the OS sensor is grounding out. Though, I've been reading that the loom itself may be loosing ground on the intake manifold. Finally - the ABS lights up about at 10k and stays on (with a delightful 'bing') - but brakes seem to work fine (with a little scrubbing noise). On the whole - I'm thinking the machine is suffering 'lot rot' more than anything fatal. I figure it'll keep up us rolling until I can find that perfect aero/anniversary at a price I can afford - so - links, experiences and comments welcomed as always. Glad I was able to keep a Swede in the slip.. -- J Dexter - webmaster - http://www.dexterdyne.org/ all tunes - no cookies no subscription no weather no ads no news no phone in - RealAudio 8+ Required - all the Time Radio Free Dexterdyne Top Tune o'be-do-da-day Mississippi John Hurt - Frankie http://www.dexterdyne.org/888/197.RAM
