Usually it fails the other way around so the engine gets too hot. Except he said he only drove it for 20 minutes in 0 deg C weather. Also, to the guy who ran around with aluminum foil blocking the radiator because he was afraid he'd pay too much for the correct repair... You'd have been a might bit pissed off if you overheated your engine (with the subsequent blown head gasket) all to save facing up to the repair. By the way, I doubt the $100 you paid the schmuck at the gas station to fix it was much less than a SAAB trained tech would have charged for the same repair. Why would you take a chance like that for such a simple job? Ever hear the phrase, "Penny wise, pound foolish?" -Fred W
