Subject: Re: Saggy Headlining Question (UK)

Sankey:- I am halfway through fixing this on my Classic 900. I've removed the roofliner from the car, taken off the material and scrapped off all the old foam. Word of warning here folks, my "cardboard" shell is actually comprised of a compressed fibreglass type substance. When scrapped hard to remove foam, the resulting fibres caused itchy skin for days!! Do it outside, and wear appropriate protection! I intend to buy material soon, along with glue, needs to be spray heat resistant type. Material is £10 to £12 a metre, I'm getting 3 so I can do the rear pillars later. Glue works out to about £15. I'm following method shown here:- http://uk.geocities.com/saab99tips/Interior/Headlining.htm Will let you know if successful. Saabs are actually not that much more expensive to repair than any other car, ford/Vauxhall etc. They don't go wrong that often either.
